THESIS #2: Nyan CAT and the 7 artifacts
This was my second thesis, a free-hand game (any game genre) development. I was the programmer and designer here. The concept was from my groupmate. We were 3 in our group. The design were all originally crafted in photoshop, so we could gather much more points from the panelists.
The Game?
The game was inspired by the popular internet meme "Nyan Cat" (search it :)) it was conceptualized by my groupmate. We thought that since our character is very much cute, we targeted kids as our beneficary, I took the risk of developing 9 puzzle games instead of another RPG, for RPG that time is very common among theses. The risk eventually made a success since we finished the game. After showing it to the panelist during defense, they were very amazed and instantly told us that we should get this packaged and sold to the market because the game and the design is very well suited for kids.
The Design?
The game's theme is about an alien invasion where the aliens eventually eats the colors of the world - so it is obvious that the entire game play should be in black and white, the black and white theme actually did highlighted some of the in-game character's colors which emphasized it more.
